Cemre Arca
Cemre Arca is a Turkish speaking Cypriot musician and music teacher. Being born into a musical family with two music teacher parents, Cemre discovered her passion for music at a very young age, which made her start piano and flute lessons. She studied Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Glasgow and completed a Pedagogical Formation program in Cyprus International University.
During her studies, Cemre has got the chance to get actively involved in the music scene of Scotland in a mixture of bands and ensembles of classical, traditional, indie, jazz and fusion music. As well as working as a musician, Cemre has worked as an event organizer both in Cyprus and in Scotland focusing on community music projects and creative music education.
At the moment, Cemre is a full-time music teacher. She sings, plays flute and piano in various bands including The Circle and The Boat, Bunfyah, The Island Seeds, her solo project as well as several other music projects.
Yousif Yaseen
Yousif Yaseen is an artist from Kuwait. He plays the guitar and sings, but with more arabic everything. Blues, Maqam music, Khaleeji sawt, and soulful singing all come together played on microtonal guitars. Yousif’s music offers a unique take on contemporary music informed by the traditional arts in the Arabian peninsula.
Panayiota Kontovourki
Panayiota Kontovourki is a Cypriot musician with a deep passion for music and creation, dedicating herself to the fields of music education and performance. Her educational path began at the University of Macedonia, in the Department of Music Science and Art. Her interest in research and music education led her to pursue further studies in the Master’s Degree Program in Music Studies at the University of Macedonia, specialising in Music and Society with a focus on Music Education. Concurrently, she gained a Violin Degree. With experience in orchestras and choirs in Greece and Cyprus, she continues to devote herself to music. Her teaching career began in 2018 in Greece and continues with an active role in music education in Cyprus, since her return to the island in 2020. She participates as a singer and violinist in musical ensembles and local bands including Kontovourkis & Co. and Project Alchemist, with performances at various major festivals and music venues in Cyprus. With a rich educational and artistic background, she continues to contribute to the multifaceted field of music education, music performance and the promotion of the arts.
Alexandros Komodromos
Alexandros Komodromos is a Greek Cypriot professional musician and performer passionate for music. From a very young age realised his love for music, pushing him towards attending his first piano lessons at the age of 8 years old, followed by guitar lessons a couple of years later, and so his musical journey began. He graduated from University of Nicosia with a Bachelor degree in Music, specialising in jazz guitar.
During his musical career, he worked with various artists from the same field and from other fields as well such as Michael Messios, Christos Yerolatsitis, Mara Constantinou, Lefteris Moumdjis and others. He participated in many events and festivals on the island like Fengaros, Fengaros Reacts, Nicosia Festival, Make Music Festival, Moonwalk Festival etc. He was also a member of the live band in 'Gynaikeio Melani', a theatrical performance of Mara Constantinou.
At the moment, he works as a music performer, session player and guitar teacher. He is the lead guitarist in Anima, Taf Lak, Island Seeds etc, and also he co-creates with other fellow musicians musical projects with different concepts such as Nocturna and Exi & Pente.
