 Taking on the role of a writer, director and performer

The workshop will delve deep into practical ways of ‘unlocking’ a text and reforming it for a live performance. Participants will get to approach this in a practical way and take on different roles along the process - from analysis to dramaturgy to performance.

This workshop is open to actors, writers, directors, industry professionals and those who wish to get involved or simply love the craft.

Το εργαστήρι θα εστιάσει σε πρακτικές μεθόδους ‘ξεκλειδώματος’ ενός κειμένου και αναμόρφωσής του για μια ζωντανή παράσταση. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αναλάβουν διαφορετικούς ρόλους κατά τη διάρκεια της διαδικασίας - από την δραματουργική ανάλυση στην ζωντανή πράξη.

Το εργαστήρι είναι ανοιχτό προς ηθοποιούς, συγγραφείς, σκηνοθέτες, επαγγελματίες του χώρου και σε άτομα που θέλουν να εμπλακούν ή απλά αγαπούν το θέατρο.
Cost of participation is set at €232.50, including 5 lunch meals and a Louvana Records gift bag. 

All registrations secured and paid for will include a 50% discount for one non-transferable three-day ticket to Fengaros Festival (Kornos, 31 July - 2 August 2025).

Refundable cancellations or change of selected workshop will not be accepted beyond the 17th of June 2025.

Participants will get to sign up for their workshop of choice, but will still get to attend sessions of the two other workshops within their pillar, as well as two lectures with instructors outside their pillar.

Cost of participation for the one day KoullouMakka workshop is set at €65.00 including 1 lunch meal.

Κάθε ολοκληρωμένη εγγραφή συμπεριλαμβάνει έκπτωση 50% για ένα μη-μεταβιβάσιμο τριήμερο εισιτήριο για το Fengaros Festival (Κόρνος, 31 Ιουλίου - 2 Αυγούστου 2025).

Ακύρωση εγγραφής με επιστροφή χρημάτων ή αλλαγή του επιλεγόμενου εργαστηρίου είναι εφικτή μέχρι τις 17 Ιουνίου 2025.

Οι συμμετέχοντες θα εγγραφούν στο εργαστήρι της επιλογής τους, θα συμμετέχουν σε δύο συναντήσεις των εργαστηρίων του ιδίου πυλώνα, και δύο διαλέξεις από εισηγητές των άλλων πυλώνων.

Το κόστος συμμετοχής για το μονοήμερο εργαστήρι ΚούλλουΜάκκα είναι €65.00 και συμπεριλαμβάνει μεσημεριανό γεύμα.

About Athina Kasiou


Athina Kasiou is the founder of the OPEN ARTS, a theatre company dedicated to bringing artists together to explore new ways of making theatre and producing necessary and dynamic work. Αthina is also a founding member of Project Season Women, an artistic platform, which aims to support, promote and give a platform to stories owned by women, to a narrative from a female perspective, to her story. Athina studied at Emerson College in Boston (BA Theatre Studies), Middlesex University in London (MFA Theatre Directing), the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow, and the ISI Indonesian Art Institute in Bali. She has also participated at the Lincoln Center Theatre Director’s Lab 07 in New York, as well as directing workshops by Katie Mitchell and Ian Rickson. With OPEN ARTS, Kasiou has directed most recently - Celebration by Pinter and Girls and Boys by Dennis Kelly.  She collaborated with the Cyprus Theatre Organisation, most recently directing the production of “Three Sisters” by Chekhov.

H Αθηνά Κάσιου δημιούργησε την θεατρική ομάδα OPEN ARTS, με στόχο να φέρνει κοντά καλλιτέχνες για να εξερευνήσουν νέους τρόπους δημιουργίας θεάτρου και φτιάχνοντας θέατρο που είναι αναγκαίο σήμερα. Επίσης είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της ΣΕΖΟΝ Γυναίκες μια θεατρική ομάδα που εξετάζει τη κυρίαρχη αφήγηση για τη θέση της γυναίκας στην κοινωνία. Σπούδασε στο Εmerson College στη Βοστόνη (ΒΑ Theatre Studies), στο Πανεπιστήμιο Middlesex του Λονδίνου (MFA Theatre Directing), στη Θεατρική Ακαδημία Τέχνης (GITIS) στη Μόσχα και στο ISI Indonesian Art Institute στο Μπαλί. Επίσης, συμμετείχε στο Lincoln Center Theatre Director’s Lab 07 στην Νέα Υόρκη και σε εργαστήρια των Katie Mitchell και Ian Rickson (Σκηνοθεσία). Mε την OPEN ARTS σκηνοθέτησε τα έργα: πιο πρόσφατα το Celebration του Χάρολντ Πίντερ και το Girls and Boys του Dennis Kelly.  Συνεργάστηκε με το Θεατρικό Οργανισμό Κύπρου σκηνοθέτησε πιο προσφατα την παράσταση Τρείς Αδερφές του Τσέχοφ.
