Eleni Irakleous’ workshop will utilise group singing to empower participants to feel confident with their voice and learn how to create harmonies using the Kodaly method. The daily programme will include practicing canons, choral works from different parts of the world, folk songs as well as playing musical games of movement and improvisation. Special attention will be given to internal hearing, group communication and the basic function of polyphony.
The workshop is aimed at vocalists, musicians, songwriters and educators who wish to explore their voice together with other voices without the accompaniment of instruments.

Χρησιμοποιώντας το ομαδικό τραγούδι, το εργαστήρι φωνής της Ηρακλέους θα δώσει τη δυνατότητα στους συμμετέχοντες να αποκτήσουν περισσότερη αυτοπεποίθηση με τη φωνή τους και να μάθουν να εκτελούν αρμονίες εφαρμόζοντας τη μέθοδο Kodaly. Το ημερήσιο πρόγραμμα του εργαστηρίου θα περιλαμβάνει πρακτική εξάσκηση σε κανόνες, χορωδιακά έργα από διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου, τραγούδια της φολκ μουσικής, καθώς και μουσικά παιχνίδια κίνησης και αυτοσχεδιασμού. Ιδιαίτερη προσοχή θα δοθεί στην εσωτερική ακοή, την επικοινωνία μεταξύ των συμμετεχόντων και τη βασική λειτουργία της πολυφωνίας.
Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε τραγουδιστές, μουσικούς, τραγουδοποιούς και παιδαγωγούς που επιθυμούν να εξερευνήσουν τη φωνή τους μαζί με άλλες φωνές χωρίς τη συνοδεία οργάνων.

Eleni Irakleous is a musician and songwriter. Originally from Dasaki Achnas, Irakleous became involved with classical piano from a young age, which granted her multiple distinctions in pancyprian and international competitions such as the 2003 Evangelia Tjiarri International Piano Competition, the 2004 Steinway International Piano Festival in Hamburg, the 2007 Pancyprian Singing Competition in Nicosia, and the 2007 Panmusica International Piano Competition in Vienna. During her teenage years, she began working as a musician at hotels and lounge bars in Cyprus, and at the age of eighteen Irakleous moved to Germany, where she studied classical piano and music education at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2011 she won first prize in performance and second prize in composition at RIK’s (Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation’s) 19th Traditional Songwriting Competition in Nicosia.
She has participated in concerts as a vocalist and pianist in Cyprus, Greece, Germany including the Konzerthaus, the Berliner Dom and the Philharmonie Berlin. In 2013 she composed the music for the theatre performance of Migronauten, directed by Elena Socratous in Berlin. In the same year she began working for the “Berliner Mädchenchor” Berlin State Choir for girls and since 2015 she officially directed the junior choir groups. During her career as a conductor she has participated in multiple seminars, workshops and concerts with musicians and vocalists from Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Albania, Cyprus, Israel and Canada. She has collaborated with the Berliner Konzerthaus Orchestra, the Berliner Kantorei Orchestra and the Schöneberger Chamber Orchestra. In 2016 she was an official speaker at the European Piano Teachers Association conference in Wiesbaden Germany. Irakleous released her two albums entitled “Rise Love” and “Younger Heart” via Louvana Records, met with multiple positive reviews from Cyprus and abroad. She has performed her music in Cyprus, Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland.

Η Ελένη Ηρακλέους είναι μουσικός και τραγουδοποιός. Κατάγεται από το Δασάκι Άχνας και από μικρή ηλικία ασχολήθηκε με το κλασικό πιάνο που της χάρισε πολλές διακρίσεις σε παγκύπριους και διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς, όπως ο διεθνής διαγωνισμός πιάνου “Τζιαρρή“ 2003, το διεθνές φεστιβάλ Steinway στο Αμβούργο το 2004, ο παγκύπριος διαγωνισμός τραγουδιού στη Λευκωσία και ο “Panmusika“ διαγωνισμός πιάνου στη Βιέννη το 2007. Από ηλικία 18 ετών ζει στη Γερμανία, όπου σπούδασε κλασικό πιάνο και μουσική εκπαίδευση στο Πανεπιστήμιο Καλών Τεχνών στο Βερολίνο. Το 2011 απέσπασε το πρώτο βραβείο στην ερμηνεία και το δεύτερο βραβείο στη σύνθεση στον 19ο διαγωνισμό σύνθεσης κυπριακού τραγουδιού του ΡΙΚ.
