Canadian artist, KAIS takes the complexities of the human condition as inspiration for his fusionist sound that sonically melds the realms of indie soul, neo psychedelic rock and folk. The performance ranges from languid guitar licks, groovy trip-hoppy drums and blissful boyband-style vocals, to intrinsically melancholic sentiments that will viscerally resonate with anyone feeling adrift by the contemporary times, which all too often leave silver linings out of sight. KAIS utilises solemnly angular art-rock lead guitar lines to completely submerge you in the cold tones that exemplify his defeatism-traversing songs, to more dynamic, choppy funk, which echoes The Bends era in Radiohead via Red Hot Chili Peppers’ more melodic syncopations. KAIS moves from the dreary and dark and transitions into the bright and hopeful. From the lush, laid-back, bluesy laments and heartbreaking swoonsome melodies, to culminations of ardently raw acoustic / electric guitar strings rhythmically hammering zealous emotion into eternity.
